Let’s Chat: The Best Windows Browser
Browsers represent one very interesting battle in the software world, with several big companies fighting for supremacy, including here Google, Microsoft, and Mozilla.
At first glance,Google Chrome, Internet Explorer/Microsoft Edge,Mozilla Firefox, andOpera are the most popular browsers, even though there are several other less-known alternatives that are certainly worth a look thanks to their rich feature lineups.
But in the end, most users seem to prefer one (or more) of those mentioned above, and there’s no wonder why: most big companies put the emphasis on performance, stability, and security, and it goes without saying that all of these are super important for users out there.Third-party stats
If we are to judge browsers from third-party market share figures, there’s absolutely no doubt that Google Chrome is the absolute leader. NetMarketShare puts it at 57.94 percent market share on the desktop, which means that nearly 6 in 10 PCs are running Chrome (and imagine that most of these PCs are actually powered by windows, the operating system that already come with a browser either Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge).
Then, it’s Internet Explorer with 19.71 percent, but given the fact that Microsoft no longer releases new features and improvements, but only security patches, for this browser, expect it to continue the collapse in the coming months.
Firefox is third with 11.77 percent, and Mozilla has every reason to be pleased with it, especially because its browser has maintained its user base in the last couple of years. Microsoft Edge is next with 5.48 percent, obviously impacted by the limited availability on Windows 10, so its adoption is advancing at a terribly slow pace.
In the end, Google Chrome seems to be the preferred browser for most of you, but because statistics like these aren’t always accurate, we decided to hear directly from our readers in this matter.
What browser do you think is the best right now on Windows (not Windows 10, but any Windows version)? Do you believe that Microsoft is on the right track with Edge browser in Windows 10? Post your thoughts in the comment box below.
