The KDevelop open-source, cross-platform and free integrated development environment (IDE) software has been updated the other day, October 17, 2016, to version 5.0.2.

KDevelop 5.0.2 appears to be a regular maintenance update and arrives approximately one week from the announcement of the first point release to the KDevelop 5.0 series , which is currently the most advanced version of the project adding a port to the latest KDE Frameworks 5 and Qt 5 technologies, improved C/C++ support, QMake support, QML/javascript support, per-project widget coloring, as well as CMake support.

Sixteen bug fixes, UI enhancements, more

A total of sixteen bug fixes and improvements landed in the KDevelop 5.0.2 update, patching multiple crashes and annoying issues reported by users since KDevelop 5.0.1 and KDevelop 5.0.0 releases, but also adding a handful of enhancements to the graphical user interface. "Four weeks after the release of KDevelop 5.0.1, we are happy to announce the availability of KDevelop 5.0.2, a second stabilization release in the 5.0 series. We highly recommend to update to version 5.0.2 if you are currently using version 5.0.1 or 5.0.0. Along with the source code, we release an updated 64-bit AppImage for linux, as well as updated installers for Microsoft windows," reads the announcement .

As noted above, if you're using KDevelop 5.0.0 or KDevelop 5.0.1, you are urged to update as soon as possible to KDevelop 5.0.2, which is now available for download as source and binary files in the AppImage format for 64-bit GNU/Linux distributions, as well as, for the first time, a 32-bit version for Windows operating systems, along with the standard 64-bit installer, of course.
